Who am I?
Hey there internet neighbour!
My name is Tejaswa Rizyal, but I generally go by Tej. There are many reasons for that but the easiest to explain is that I just have always been refered to as Tej since I was a child.
History
I have been tinkering with computers since I was about 6 years old. Apparently there was a time when I did not understand what things like “shut down” or “folders” meant, but I had just watched my dad using the magic screen, and learnt how to use the computer to write poems and play with MSPaint. Credits to my mother for telling me these stories when I was applying for my Bachelors.
At the time we did not have internet access so everything I learnt was purely offline, which I feel was an early sign of me not enjoying web development (hence this website). In rural India, with a Tata Photon Plus USB modem in 2012, I had my first interaction with the internet. Which I very much was not allowed to use but ~oh well~.
Later in high school in 2017, I took Computer Science only ever having used HTML (not even CSS) and a month of QBASIC. I’d like to argue that the education relating to CS was not present in my school before that so this was basically the first time I learnt programming.
Enter C/C++
Yes, I learnt C in school, I still remember the class(es) I had purely for pointers. I think the whole class unanimously agreed that 1 lecture isn’t enough and that we need to pend a whole week just learn pointers. I am glad we did that, because C, C++ and pointers have carried on with my throughout my education, so that introduction was the best thing ever.
